Welcome to My Fat Ass Black Ass Life

It’s Just Life Right… LOL!!

Listen, I’m not here to whisper. I’m here to shout, unapologetically, about my journey, my struggles, and my wins. This is My Fat Ass Black Ass Life, where we keep it real, raw, and unfiltered. If that makes you uncomfortable, this might not be the space for you.

For those of you still here—welcome. You’re about to join me on a wild ride of self-love, weight loss, and living life out loud as a fat, Black woman who refuses to shrink herself for anyone.

Why “My Fat Ass Black Ass Life”?

Because that’s exactly what it is! No longer will I allow society to villainize my body and tell me to hate myself. I’ve spent enough time trying to fit into boxes—body, behavior, expectations—and I’m done. I’m fat. I’m Black. I’m fabulous. And I’m living my life the best way I know how: one messy, beautiful, hilarious day at a time.

This blog is my space to:

• Lose the weight (both physical and emotional) while still loving the hell out of myself.

• Raise a 9-year-old son who reminds me daily that I don’t actually know everything.

• Geek out over DIY beauty and cooking hacks because science is my superpower.

• Laugh through the chaos of balancing it all as a single mom with big dreams.

I don’t have all the answers, but I do have my voice. And you better believe I’m going to use it.

Who Am I?

I’m Mona, your new best friend who tells it like it is.

I’m a mom, a  high school chemistry teacher, a proud Black woman, and someone who’s tired of pretending life is picture-perfect when it’s anything but.

Here’s the truth: I’m working on myself. I’ve been on this weight loss journey for forever, literally forever! I’ve got the stretch marks, sweat-stained gym clothes, and cookie crumbs in my car to prove it.

But I’m also a nerdy science lover who turns everyday problems into experiments. Whether it’s figuring out how to make homemade skincare with pantry staples or teaching my son why baking soda is magic, I’m always looking for ways to make life a little brighter.

And above all, I’m unapologetically me—fat, Black, and proud.

What You’ll Get Here

Let me be real: this isn’t one of those Pinterest-perfect blogs with perfectly portioned kale salads and serene photos of someone doing yoga in a meadow. Nope.

Here’s what you will get:

1. Weight Loss Without the Bullsh*t: The good, the bad, and the ugly truth about trying to lose weight while raising a kid, teaching high school chemistry and working on your mental health.

2. DIY Beauty and Science Hacks: Chemistry isn’t just for the lab. I’ll show you how to whip up makeup, skincare, and even kitchen magic that makes life easier.

3. Mom Life Madness: Raising a kid is hard, hilarious, and sometimes gross. I’ve got stories, tips, and probably some questionable advice for my fellow parents.

4. Big Black Energy: Yes, we’re talking self-love, empowerment, and embracing your authentic self—while also laughing at life’s absurdities.

I want this blog to feel like your loudest, most unfiltered girlfriend—the one who calls you out, lifts you up, and makes you laugh until you pee a little.

Why This Blog Matters

Because we deserve spaces where we can show up as our whole selves. Spaces where we can be loud, bold, fat, Black, vulnerable, and everything in between.

This isn’t just about me—it’s about creating a community where we all feel seen and celebrated. It’s about finding joy in the journey, even when it’s messy. And it’s about flipping the script on what society says we should be.

What’s Next?

Stick around, because I’ve got so much to share:

• How I’m losing weight without giving up my love for soul food.

• DIY skincare that’s cheap, effective, and fun to make.

• The wild, wonderful chaos of raising a kid who has way more energy than I do.

• Stories of triumph, failure, and everything in between.

And trust me—if I can do this, you can too.
